Please be advised that the Significant Weather Event declared by the Town of Smiths Falls on February 12, 2025, related to winter maintenance operations has now ended. This declaration is made pursuant to Ontario Regulation 239/02 of the Municipal Act, 2001 (as amended).
The Town would like to thank the residents and business owners of Smiths Falls for their patience while Public Works Operations Staff performed snow clearing and removal operations on roadways and sidewalks throughout the town...

Please be advised that flags at the municipal facilities are at half mast out of respect for John Wanless, former member of the Planning Advisory Committee & Committee of Adjustment.
John had served as a committee member for 25 years, providing valuable knowledge and insight to help form and develop our beautiful community.
John will be greatly missed by fellow committee members, council & staff. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

Safety Notice - February 25, 2025

The Town has received reports of children playing /sledding & building tunnels in snowbanks located in parking lots in various locations throughout the community. We would like to remind residents to please stay off these hills. Snow removal efforts are still ongoing and tunnels where children cannot be seen, along with low visibility for vehicles traveling in or out of these parking lots, can pose a safety risk. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our residents safe!

Road Closure: Percy Street

Update - February 18, 2025 The water main break on Percy Street has been successfully repaired. Water service has been restored, and traffic control measures have been removed. If you notice any discoloration in your water, please run your cold water tap until it becomes clear. We also recommend checking your water for discolouration before using it to wash light coloured clothing.
