Rideau Artist of the Year

The Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum invites artists to the picturesque grounds of the museum to create an original work of art that captures the beauty of Smiths Falls where industrial heritage meets the natural landscape, in the tradition of en plein air art making.

This competition is open to artists of all mediums. Artists will have the weekend to complete an original work of art and submit it to the museum’s gallery, where they will then be reviewed by a Jury. For more information about the 2024 Rideau Artist of the Year Competition, please visit the Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum Facebook page.

Previous winners of the Rideau Artist of the Year Competition include Michelle Reid (2022), Rachel Houlton (2023, Intermediate Category) and Jordan Sinclair (2023, Youth Category).
