The Building Division deals with all matters that fall under the Building Code Act and the Ontario Building Code including new construction, demolition, alteration/repair and the occupancy of buildings.

Building Permit process and approvals can vary in time and requirements depending on the complexity of the project.  The First step is to determine your project scope, obtain professional guidance and submit a Building Permit Application

Building and Development Costs and Fees

The cost of your building permit will vary depending on your project. View the 2022 Building Fees

New or expanded developments are also subject to Development Charges. These fees are collected to assist the municipality in cost recovery related to creating and maintaining municipal infrastructure such as roads, water and sewer, etc.

Planning Your Project

The Building Division's role is to review and approve a building permit applications. Technical guidance about your project should be sought from industrial professionals such as contractors, engineers, architects, trades persons and other related professionals. There are many qualified professionals in town or in our region.
