The Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre is a place for many recreational opportunities, inside and outside. From the skateboard park, baseball diamond, tennis courts to the walking concourse, figure skating, hockey and events, the Community Centre cater’s to the active lifestyle.
The Community Centre can seat up to 1500 people and features six large dressing rooms, two rooms for referees, a first-aid room, boys and girls minor hockey office/program areas, a large main lobby with concession and staff offices, second floor community halls; viewing area, handicap accessible washrooms, elevators, a walking concourse around the entire upper tier of the building. The facility also features an NHL-sized ice surface, 200 x 85, with state-of-the-art refrigeration, lighting and a heating re-capture system that makes it one of the most energy efficient buildings in the town.
In addition there is a huge facility geared completely for the Bears – junior A hockey team. The Bears’ facility takes up almost 2,500 square feet and offers the team a large dressing facility, workout areas, offices for key staff, including the coach, who has his own private bathroom and shower.
The Community Centre provides the ideal location for winter sports activities and summer events including weddings, concerts, trade fairs and any other special event requiring a bright new venue.
Features a 1/7th mile or 1/5th km 2nd floor “ Sportflex “ indoor track surface for walking comfort (7 laps = 1 mile or 5 laps = 1 km).

Participants must enter the east side doors (seniors centre) complete a self-assessment, sign in for contact tracing, sanitize, and wear a mask until they start to exercise.
*Mask must be worn when not participating in physical activities.
Participants must exit the west side doors (skate park)
Washrooms on the second floor are restricted to walking concourse and hall users only.
The use of stairs for exercising is not permitted.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday users will walk or run clockwise.
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday users will walk or run counterclockwise
Front doors and elevator are available for accessible use only.

Community Centre Bookable Assets
The ice surface can be used for multiple purposes, hockey practices, hockey games, figure skating practices, figure skating competitions, birthday parties, family skating functions, etc. During the winter months public skating is available and the ice can be rented out for personal public skating as well.
Rent Ice Rates:
- Adult, Prime-Time: $171/hr;
- Non-Prime-time: $111/hr
- Minor, Prime-Time: $126/hr;
- Non-Prime-time: $90/hr
Extended Season Ice
Extended season ice before or after the regular season for leagues and sporting groups. From April 1st to the third week of September or prior to the demand threshold
Once the ice is removed during the off season from May 15th – July 30th, the concrete finished floor is used throughout the summer for various community dinners, weddings, social evenings, ball hockey, indoor soccer and has occupancy of 1260 people.

Please feel free to leave skates in the arena office for sharpening and you may pick-up at your convenience.
