NOTICE: Significant Weather Event

 

As per Regulation 239/02 of the Municipal Act 2001, due to significant snowfall and high winds causing blizzard like conditions, as of 11:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2024, the Town of Smiths Falls has declared a significant weather event. This declaration suspends the standard timelines required for the Town of Smiths Falls to meet their winter maintenance objectives until the municipality declares the significant weather event has ended. Please note that it may take longer than usual to bring the condition of the roads and sidewalks/walkways back to a state of repair. The Town of Smiths Falls will post when the municipality has declared the event has ended. Please ensure to give Public Works operations staff time and space to perform snow clearing operations.
