The Town of Smiths Falls is pleased to announce that the Memorial Community Centre will reopen to the public at 4:00 p.m. today, Friday, September 12th, 2025.

Earlier this week, a sprinkler head was damaged inside the facility, resulting in approximately 12,000 litres of water being discharged onto the second-floor concourse and onto the ice surface below. Thanks to the quick response of the Smiths Falls Fire Department and the hard work of the Community Services Department staff, the Town was able to limit the extent of the damage and expedite repair efforts.

“I want to extend my sincere thanks to the Smiths Falls Fire Department for their immediate assistance and to our Community Services staff for their tireless efforts to restore the facility,” said Stephanie Clark, Director of Community Services “Their dedication ensured that we could reopen safely and quickly for our residents and user groups.”

The Town looks forward to welcoming back patrons to the Memorial Community Centre this afternoon. We hope to see everyone out for the Junior A Bears game tonight at 7:30 pm.
