The Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum presents: Fall 2023

Smiths Falls, ON – Heritage House Museum is excited to launch a diverse line up of art displays and events for fall 2023.

Starting with a gallery exhibit, the 2023 Rideau Artists of the Year Showcase will be on display at the Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum from September 17 – October 15, highlighting the art pieces created during the Rideau Artist of the Year Competition.

To kick off fall events, Heritage House will be firing up the brick bake oven for a Pizza Night Fundraiser on Friday September 22nd in support of accessibility updates to the museum grounds. Homemade pizza will be served under the lovely Heritage House willow tree followed by a candle lit tour of the museum. Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased at https://pizzanightathhm.eventbrite.ca 

Due to popular demand, Trivia at 4 Degrees Brewing Company will continue into the fall. In partnership with the Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum, 4 Degrees Brewing Company has been running a monthly trivia night, in support of accessibility updates to the museum. The next Trivia night will be on Friday September 29th starting at 7pm. The cost is $25 per table. Heritage House is excited to bring back Fall Fest on Sunday October 1st from 11am - 2pm. Filled with fall activities, the event will be an entry by donation and will include self guided tours of the Museum, a vendors market, a BBQ and $5 wagon rides per person.

The annual Community Pumkin Carving Contest will begin on October 21st – October 31st. Pumpkins have been generously donated by Millers Bay Farm and will be available for pick up during Fall Fest on October 1st. Pumpkin submissions will need to be at the museum no later than 5pm on October 20th.

And of course, Heritage House has Halloween events all ready for you starting with Heritage House Ghost Tours. Tip toe through the candle lit corridors of the museum as a costumed interpreter leads you through tales of local ghost sightings and mysterious happenings in the museum and surrounding area on Wednesday, October 11th and Thursday, October 12th from 7pm – 9pm, or otherwise by appointment. The Nightwatchmen and GHOST will be at the museum on October Friday 13th for the Friday the 13Paranormal Investigation. There will be two investigations to choose from. The early investigation will run from 6pm – 10:30pm and cost $50 per person. The late investigation will run from 11pm – 3am and cost $60 per person. This event is for participants who are 18+ years. Last but not least, go through the 1860’s home…. at night! Dare to enter the museum after hours on October 20, 21, 27 & 28 for the Haunted Heritage House. The event will run from 7pm – 9pm and cost $10 per person. Tickets are available at sfhauntedhouse.eventbrite.ca
