Smiths Falls Seeks Community Input for 2024 Budget Planning

 

 

Smiths Falls, ON  – The Town of Smiths Falls invites residents, businesses, and property owners to participate in the shaping of the 2024 municipal budget by providing valuable feedback on the initial draft.

 

The first draft of the 2024 budget, which outlines proposed service delivery costs and capital projects for the upcoming year, was presented to Council during its meeting on December 22nd. A second draft will be brought forward for consideration at the Committee of the Whole meeting scheduled for January 29th.

 

Mayor Shawn Pankow emphasized, “Council values the feedback we receive from the community on how our residents, business owners and taxpayers believe tax dollars should be spent. This helps Council prioritize and balance our service delivery and capital projects with the needs of the community.”

 

Residents and stakeholders interested in reviewing the draft budget presentation and providing input are encouraged to participate in an online survey available on the Town's website at www.smithsfalls.ca/BudgetSurvey. Alternatively, they can obtain and submit a paper copy at the Reception Desk at Town Hall.

 

The survey will remain open until Sunday, January 21st at midnight. The results will be summarized and included in the next budget report.
