On Friday April 5, 2024, at approximately 10:05 p.m., the Smiths Falls Police Service received multiple 911 calls for a possible stabbing related incident in the area Chambers Street.  Police located a 37-year-old male victim, who had suffered a serious injury.  The victim was transported to the hospital, admitted and remains in serious but stable condition. 

The Smiths Falls Police investigation is ongoing and there is no concern for public safety.

***PRESS RELEASE UPDATE***

It has been confirmed that the male victim in this incident suffered a stab wound as a result of an altercation.  This incident occurred at an apartment on Chambers Street.  The victim was treated for his injuries at the Kingston General Hospital and later released.  Several witnesses inside the apartment were uncooperative, as well as the victim when followed up by police.  

Two individuals who reside in Smiths Falls, were located inside the apartment and subsequently arrested for unrelated offences:

-          A 37-year-old male was charged with, Breach of release order and Breach of Probation order.  He was later released by way of an Undertaking and will appear in court at a future court date.

-          Kyle NERON - 38 years old - Breach of release order and was held for a bail hearing to answer to this charge.

The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
