  • Splash Pad Notice: July 2025
    Guess who’s back (for a little while longer)?!
    Our trusty splash pad may be a little worn out, a little creaky, and definitely getting ready for retirement—but it’s not done just yet! Thanks to a bit of elbow grease and a whole lotta love, we’re thrilled to announce that the splash pad is OPEN again for the season!
    Come cool off, make a splash, and give this old water warrior the summer it deserves. Just remember—she’s not as spry as she used to be, so please treat her gently, and be careful out.

  • Seniors Activity Building Renamed
    Honouring a Legacy – Celebrating Our Seniors
    In recognition of his years of service and dedication to the community, we are proud to announce the renaming of the Seniors Activity Building to the Bud Fawcett Memorial Senior Activity Centre.
    As we celebrate Seniors Month this June, this renaming is a heartfelt tribute to a man who gave so much of his time and spirit to supporting local seniors and enriching community life.
  • Heat Warning: June 23, 2025
    Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning, expected to last into tomorrow evening. High temperatures mixed with humidity can cause dehydration, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and more.
  • Flag Lowered to Honour Jim Hurd
    The flag at the municipal building has been lowered to half-mast in memory of a former employee who served our community with dedication and care.
    We remember and honour Jim Hurd who faithfully operated and maintained Hillcrest Cemetery.

    The Town of Smiths Falls is proud to announce it has entered into a formal agreement of twinness and cooperation with the City of Zolochiv, Lviv Oblast of Ukraine. This partnership represents a shared commitment to mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and long-term collaboration between our two communities.

  • Media Release: Public Asked to Help Curb Vandalism

    The Town of Smiths Falls is urging residents to be vigilant, and report acts of vandalism following a noticeable increase in graffiti throughout various public and private properties within the town.

    Over the past few weeks, multiple areas such as street right of ways including bridges and street signage, pedestrian tunnel under the railway, parks, community buildings, and privately owned structures have been targeted.

  • Road Closure: Structure Fire (June 10, 2025)

    Due to a major fire (location Pizza Hut/Subway) – The public is requested to avoid the area near Pizza Hut/Subway.

    Lombard Street is closed at Walmart Entrance  on the north side of Lombard St.

    Notice is hereby given that an application has been filed with the Clerk to rename the Seniors Activity Building (located on the Memorial Community Centre/Youth Arena at 61 Cornelia St West) in honour of Mr. John (Bud) Fawcett.
