Recreation and Sporting Facilities

Smiths Falls offers a wide variety of outdoor sports fields and courts. Our Community Centre and Youth Arena facilities provide the town with two indoor ice surfaces. These facilities are managed by the Community Services department. More information can be found below or by calling 613-283-4124 x 6105.

Memorial Community Centre,71 Cornelia Street West

The impressive Memorial Community Centre features an NHL-sized ice surface with seating for 1500 people. The facility also includes an indoor walking track. This arena is home to the Smiths Falls Jr. A Bears hockey team.

Youth Arena,71-A Cornelia Street West

Youth Arena facility can seat 300 people with an ice surface sized at 185 x 80.

  • Dry floor rentals are available in the Community Centre from beginning of June to mid-July and in the Youth Arena from April to mid-September. Youth and adult rental rates are available.
  • Hall rental space is available in both the Community Centre and Youth Arena. These halls have a max. capacity of approx. 150 people each and include kitchen facilities. Cost per hour is $55.00 (plus HST).

Gerry Lowe Memorial Rink of Dreams, 150 Elmsley Street

Rink of Dreams is an outdoor multi-purpose space created in partnership with the Gerry Lowe Foundation and the Sen's Foundation. This outdoor rink is open for public use year round. Enjoy ice hockey and public skating in the winter and basketball and ball hockey in the spring, summer, and fall.

Currently Closed.

For your safety, we kindly ask that you refrain from using the rink during inclement weather, ice maintenance, or outside of scheduled times. Please note that the ice surface is unsupervised, and use is at your own risk.

Madden Field, 12-B Old Slys Road

Located in Lower Reach Park, this diamond is ideal for T-Ball.

Rockburn Field,12-B Old Slys Road

This ball diamond is sized for T-Ball and centrally located in Lower Reach Park.

Civitan Fields,25 Old Slys Road

Civitan field 1 and Civitan field 2 are large, popular diamonds great for softball. Their proximity to each other make them ideal for tournaments. These fields are across the road from Lower Reach Park.

Community Centre Field,71-A Cornelia Street West

Close to the Community Centre and Youth Arena complex, this field is a great choice for adult/softball games and practices.

Friendship Park,12-B Old Slys Road

Friendship diamond is suitable for hardball and is close to all the Lower Reach Park amenities.

Lower Reach Courts,entrance on Ryan Street

This court features painted lines for tennis as well as pickleball. These courts are lit allowing for public play well into the summer evenings.

Community Centre Courts, 71-A Cornelia Street West

These courts are located near the Community Centre and Youth Arena complex. They are lit in the evenings and include painted lines for both pickleball and tennis.

Kiwanis Field,12-B Old Slys Road

Located in Lower Reach Park, this hilltop soccer field is ideal for games and practices. Field lines are maintained during the peak season. Two mini fields are available within the larger area.

Mountain Field,entrance on Jasper Avenue

Soccer field situated centrally in Lower Reach Park close to all the park amenities. This large field includes two smaller mini fields as well with lines painted in the grass for the summer.

Aboud Field,entrance on Jasper Avenue

Large field sized for football. Goalposts and lines are maintained in the summer months.

Memorial Community Centre, 71 Cornelia Street West

A public skateboard area open for all ages. This fenced park allows new and experienced skateboarders to learn new tricks and get practice on jumps.

Beach Volleyball Court, 12-B Old Slys Road

Outdoor Beach Volleyball court located within Lower Reach Park. Great place to play and enjoy volleyball on a summers' day.

Bocce Ball Court, 12-B Old Slys Road
Well-maintained public bocce ball court located in the heart of Lower Reach Park and close to shade trees.

Lower Reach Park, 12-B Old Slys Road
The public outdoor fitness station is a great place to enjoy some outdoor exercise. Each machine has instructions listed on it for ease of use.

3-on-3 Basketball Court,entrance on Jasper Avenue

Great sized court perfect for 3-on-3 basketball in Lower Reach Park.

Indoor Track

Summer Hours - May 2026 - August 2026, Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 

Upstairs in the Memorial Community Centre. Accessible by elevator. Clean shoes only. Track is closed when paid admission is needed to enter the arena (i.e., Bears game and Rideaus games).

7 laps = 1 mile or 5 laps = 1 km.

Public Skating

$2.00 per skater. A public skate is an open, unstructured recreational skating session available to members of the general public of all ages and skill levels, focused on leisure skating and general enjoyment of the ice surface. Schedule is subject to change.

If you are accompanying a participant to a public skate program and your assistance is required for them to safely take part, you will be admitted at no charge. This applies to caregivers, support persons, or aides who are providing direct assistance on the ice or at the facility.

Sensory Skate

$2.00 per skater.  A sensory skate is a modified public skate designed to provide a quieter, calmer, and more accessible skating experience for individuals who benefit from reduced sensory stimulation, including those with autism, sensory processing differences, anxiety, or other sensory sensitivities. Schedule is subject to change.

Parent & Tot

$2.00 per adult. A parent and tot skate is a supervised introductory skating program designed for very young children (under the age of 5) accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult, focused on early skill development, comfort on the ice, and positive first experiences. Schedule is subject to change.

Drop-in Adult Shinny

$5.00 per player. Drop-in Shinny is an informal, non-contact hockey-style session intended for casual recreational play. It is not a league, instructional, or competitive program and is designed to allow individuals to participate without prior registration. Schedule is subject to change.

$2.00 per player. Stick and Puck is an individual skills-based session intended for players to practice skating, puck handling, passing, and shooting in a non-competitive environment for youth ages 13-17 only. Helmet and gloves are required.
