  • Media Release: 2025 RAY Competition

    The Smiths Falls Heritage Museum invites artists and the public to the picturesque grounds of the museum and Old Slys Rapids and Lock Station on Saturday, June 7th to create an original work of art that captures the beauty of the Rideau Canal in Smiths Falls. This location showcases a beautiful stone train bridge, rapids, natural wildlife, built heritage and of course the Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    The Town of Smiths Falls, in partnership with ontrac Employment Services, the Smiths Falls District Chamber of Commerce, the Small Business Advisory Centre, and the Downtown Smiths Falls Business Association, is pleased to invite local residents to the Job and Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, April 23, from 1:00 p.m.

  • Media Release: 2025 Winter Carnival

    The Town is thrilled to announce the return of the much-anticipated Smiths Falls Winter Carnival, taking place on Saturday, February 8, 2025. The Town will be transformed into a winter wonderland, offering a variety of family-friendly events, activities, and entertainment at multiple locations throughout downtown Smiths Falls, and at the Memorial Community Centre.

  • Holiday Glow-Off Contest Winners Announced

    The votes are in, and the residents of Smiths Falls have chosen their favorites in the Holiday Glow-Off Home Decorating Contest.

    In November, Smiths Falls area residents were invited to register their homes for the decorating contest, tour the town to check out the festive homes, and vote for their top 3 choices.

  • Town Launches Holiday Glow-Off Decorating Contest

    Are your legendary holiday decorating skills the envy of your neighborhood? Sign up today for the Smiths Falls Holiday Glow-Off home decorating contest! As part of The Town’s Celebration of Lights holiday campaign, the Town of Smiths Falls’ Economic Development and Tourism Department is inviting residents to enter the decorating contest by registering their address, touring the town to check out all the wonderful, festive homes, and then voting for their favourites!

  • Still Standing Community Watch Parties

    The Town of Smiths Falls, in partnership with The Smiths Falls Community Theatre, is pleased to announce that they will be hosting a free Community Watch Party for the debut of the Smiths Falls Still Standing episode, on Tuesday, October 22 from 8 PM - 9 PM. Admission to the Watch Party is free, but seating is limited, so reservations are required.
