    The Town of Smiths Falls awarded Contract 24-PW-011 for the Milling of Asphalt, Grading, Hot Mix Paving and Miscellaneous Concrete & Rehabilitation to Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited. Construction will be taking place between August 6th and September 30th, 2024.

In light of the cancellation of the 2024 Spirit of the Drum Pow Wow, we understand the importance of addressing the community directly and transparently.

  • Pedestrian Foot Path Questionnaire

    The Town of Smiths Falls is engaging residents to participate in a brief online questionnaire to determine the usage of the pedestrian foot path that is located directly underneath the Canadian Pacific Rail tracks that joins Victoria Ave and Anne St.

    Town staff have been in communication with Canadian Pacific Railway, the owner of the subway, to discuss the concerns brought forward by residents within the community about its condition and how to improve the passageway in the future.

  • Town Invites Residents to Send-off Hometown Olympians

    The Town of Smiths Falls would like to extend their best wishes to our hometown athletes Brooke and Brittany Henderson as they travel to Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics. This marks Brooke’s third career pursuit to Gold in the Olympic Games, participating in 2016 in Rio and 2020 in Tokyo.

    The Town of Smiths Falls is announcing the opening of the fall intake for the activated financial incentive programs under the Community Improvement Program for 2024.

    The Community Improvement Plan (CIP) was created to help improve accessibility, create attainable (affordable) rental units, create opportunities to redevelop possibly contaminated properties and improve the commercial building stock in the Downtown.

  • Smiths Falls Police Services Board Appoint Police Chief

    Effective July 3, 2024, the Smiths Falls Police Services Board would like to formally announce the appointment of Jodi Empey as Police Chief for the Town of Smiths Falls.

    A veteran member, Chief Empey joined the Smiths Falls Police Service as a recruit in 1994 and continued to move up the ranks throughout her 30-year career in Smiths Falls.

  • BR&E and Investment Attraction RFP

    The Town of Smiths Falls is currently soliciting proposals for the development of a Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) and Investment Attraction Strategic Plan. This initiative was identified as a key priority in the current Council Strategic Plan (2023-2026).
