    The Town of Smiths Falls is pleased to announce that the Memorial Community Centre will reopen to the public at 4:00 p.m.

    The Town of Smiths Falls has temporarily closed the Memorial Community Centre arena -including the concourse- following an unusual incident that occurred during play earlier this afternoon. During a regularly scheduled ice rental, a puck deflected off the crossbar of the net, striking the sprinkler system located in the ceiling high above the playing surface.

    WHEREAS In Canada, there are 30,000 people who have been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis or idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (if the cause is unknown), with many more still waiting to be diagnosed; and

    The Town of Smiths Falls is inviting residents to review and provide feedback on the draft of its new Official Plan, a document that will shape the community’s growth and development for the next 25 years. A public open house will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2025, from 5 – 7 PM at Town Hall.

  • RVCA level 3 Low Water Advisory - August 19, 2025
    Due to ongoing rainfall deficits and prolonged heat waves, the Rideau Valley Water Response Team has declared a Level 3 Low Water Advisory for the Rideau Valley Watershed.
    Residents and businesses across the Rideau Valley watershed are strongly encouraged to reduce their overall water use and suspend non-essential water activities until natural supplies begin to recover.

    The Town of Smiths Falls is pleased to announce the generous donation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) from Member of Parliament Scott Reid and the Harmony Seniors Club.

    This life-saving device has been installed in the Memorial Community Centre, adjacent to the walking concourse where it will enhance the Town’s ability to respond to cardiac emergencies and help ensure the safety of residents, visitors, and community members.
