    POLICE RESPOND TO MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION WITH INJURIES

    On August 1 2024, officers were dispatched to a collision between a scooter and motor vehicle at the intersection of Beckwith Street and William Street. During the investigation, it was learned that a youth operating a scooter had been struck by a vehicle and sustained a leg injury.

In light of the cancellation of the 2024 Spirit of the Drum Pow Wow, we understand the importance of addressing the community directly and transparently.

  • Pedestrian Foot Path Questionnaire

    The Town of Smiths Falls is engaging residents to participate in a brief online questionnaire to determine the usage of the pedestrian foot path that is located directly underneath the Canadian Pacific Rail tracks that joins Victoria Ave and Anne St.

    Town staff have been in communication with Canadian Pacific Railway, the owner of the subway, to discuss the concerns brought forward by residents within the community about its condition and how to improve the passageway in the future.

  • Town Invites Residents to Send-off Hometown Olympians

    The Town of Smiths Falls would like to extend their best wishes to our hometown athletes Brooke and Brittany Henderson as they travel to Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics. This marks Brooke’s third career pursuit to Gold in the Olympic Games, participating in 2016 in Rio and 2020 in Tokyo.

    On the 28th of July 2024 Smiths Falls Police attended a local REXALL store after a report of a robbery. The male suspect entered the store advising he had a gun and demanded cash and left the area.

    Unknown Male Assaults Female At Her Residence

    On the 22nd of July 2024 police responded to an assault that was reported after the fact. A female reported that on the 20th of July 2024, she was sitting on her front porch on William St E when a male went up onto her porch and pulled her off and assaulted her physically unprovoked.

  • CIP Fall Intake Now Open

    The Town of Smiths Falls is announcing the opening of the fall intake for the activated financial incentive programs under the Community Improvement Program for 2024.

    The Community Improvement Plan (CIP) was created to help improve accessibility, create attainable (affordable) rental units, create opportunities to redevelop possibly contaminated properties and improve the commercial building stock in the Downtown.
