    Female arrested –Breach:

    On September 17th, 2024, the Smiths Falls Police Service made an arrest of a 33-year-old female stemming from an investigation related to breach of recognizance of bail conditions for previous IPV charges. 

    The accused was arrested without incident and was released from police custody on a Form 10 Undertaking with a court date to answer to his charge.

    Female Arrested – Warrant:

    On August 12th 2024, the Smiths Falls Police Service executed an arrest warrant on a 19 year old Smiths Falls female stemming from several incidents between Jan 2024 and April 2024. The accused female was arrested at the station without incident.

    On August 20th 2024, the Smiths Falls Police Service entered into a theft investigation from a south end business. Police were provided a description of the suspect and a description of the items stolen.

    Smiths Falls Police Services Board Announces Deputy Chief of Police

    The Smiths Falls Police Services’ Board wishes to announce the hiring of a new Deputy Chief effective September 3rd 2024, after a Province wide search. Chris Kettyle will be sworn in as Smiths Falls newest Deputy Chief of Police.

    POLICE RESPOND TO MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION WITH INJURIES

    On August 1 2024, officers were dispatched to a collision between a scooter and motor vehicle at the intersection of Beckwith Street and William Street. During the investigation, it was learned that a youth operating a scooter had been struck by a vehicle and sustained a leg injury.

    Unknown Male Assaults Female At Her Residence

    On the 22nd of July 2024 police responded to an assault that was reported after the fact. A female reported that on the 20th of July 2024, she was sitting on her front porch on William St E when a male went up onto her porch and pulled her off and assaulted her physically unprovoked.
