Male Sustains Critical Injuries

At approximately 7:25PM on Tuesday October 15th 2024, Smiths Falls Police were called by Paramedics in regards to an unconscious male on Jasper Avenue. Preliminary investigation revealed that the male was a passenger in a moving vehicle when he went out the open window landing on the roadway.

Female arrested –Breach:

On September 17^th, 2024, the Smiths Falls Police Service made an arrest of a 33-year-old female stemming from an investigation related to breach of recognizance of bail conditions for previous IPV charges. 

The accused was arrested without incident and was released from police custody on a Form 10 Undertaking with a court date to answer to his charge.

Female Arrested – Warrant:

On August 12th 2024, the Smiths Falls Police Service executed an arrest warrant on a 19 year old Smiths Falls female stemming from several incidents between Jan 2024 and April 2024. The accused female was arrested at the station without incident.

Male arrested Theft Charges:

On August 20^th 2024, the Smiths Falls Police Service entered into a theft investigation from a south end business. Police were provided a description of the suspect and a description of the items stolen.

Smiths Falls Police Services Board Announces Deputy Chief of Police

The Smiths Falls Police Services’ Board wishes to announce the hiring of a new Deputy Chief effective September 3^rd 2024, after a Province wide search. Chris Kettyle will be sworn in as Smiths Falls newest Deputy Chief of Police.

POLICE RESPOND TO MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION WITH INJURIES

On August 1 2024, officers were dispatched to a collision between a scooter and motor vehicle at the intersection of Beckwith Street and William Street. During the investigation, it was learned that a youth operating a scooter had been struck by a vehicle and sustained a leg injury.

Smiths Falls Police Arrest Male in Robbery

On the 28^th of July 2024 Smiths Falls Police attended a local REXALL store after a report of a robbery. The male suspect entered the store advising he had a gun and demanded cash and left the area.
