  • Town Invites Residents to Send-off Hometown Olympians

    The Town of Smiths Falls would like to extend their best wishes to our hometown athletes Brooke and Brittany Henderson as they travel to Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics. This marks Brooke’s third career pursuit to Gold in the Olympic Games, participating in 2016 in Rio and 2020 in Tokyo.

  • Summer Eats Contest 2024

    The Town of Smiths Falls Economic Development and Tourism department is excited to announce the launch of the Summer Eats contest, celebrating the diverse and delicious flavors of locally owned restaurants.

    This new initiative aims to highlight the culinary excellence present in Smiths Falls while engaging both residents and visitors and continuing to support local food establishments.

    Old Home Week 2025, a celebration that is held every 25 years, is just around the corner on August 2-9, 2025. It all started in 1925 with an invitation to past residents to come home for a week of festivities and reunions.

  • Spirit of the Drum Powwow Cancelled for 2024

    The powwow was imagined by the Indigenous Studies program at Smiths Falls District Collegiate Institute with the objective of educating and sharing First Nations culture with youth and the community.  The event is in partnership with the Town of Smiths Falls, and an indigenous advisor from Pikwakanagan First Nations Reserve.

  • Heritage Conservation District Study
    The Town of Smiths Falls retained Stantec Consulting Ltd. In early 2024 to complete the Downtown Smiths Falls Heritage Conservation District Study.
  • Still Standing Coming to Smiths Falls

    Smiths Falls welcomes Still Standing Comedian Jonny Harris on May 8th for a night of laughter and entertainment! This is a free event for ages 12+, which will be taking place at the Youth Arena at 7 PM.

    Born and raised in Pouch Cove, Newfoundland, and currently residing in Toronto, Jonny is best known for his roles in two long-running CBC TV series: he plays constable George Crabtree on Murdoch Mysteries and is the host, producer, and writer of Still Standing, for which he has won six Canadian.
