Recreation and Sporting Facilities

Smiths Falls offers a wide variety of outdoor sports fields and courts to support active recreation for all ages. Our Memorial Community Centre and Youth Arena features two indoor ice surfaces, a multi-speed track and hall space for recreational programs, community events, and private rentals.

Memorial Community Centre (MCC), 71 Cornelia Street, West

The Memorial Community Centre features an NHL-sized ice surface with seating for 1500 people. Home to the Smiths Falls Jr. A and Jr. B Bears Hockey Club. Home to the Smiths Falls Senior "A" Rideaus Hockey Club. The facility includes an indoor multi-speed track.

Youth Arena (YA), 71-A Cornelia Street West

Youth Arena facility features an ice surface sized at 185' x 80' with seating for 300 people.

Dry Floor Rentals - Youth and adult rental rates are available.

  • Memorial Community Centre (MCC) available June to July.
  • Youth Arena (YA) available April to September. 

Hall Rentals - Cost per hour $55.00 plus HST. 

  • Memorial Community Centre (MCC) is 3,098 square feet with a maximum capacity of 150 people. 
  • Youth Arena (YA) is 1,950 square feet with a maximum capacity of 100 people.
  • Kitchen access available upon request.

Gerry Lowe Memorial Rink of Dreams, 150 Elmsley Street

Rink of Dreams is an outdoor multi-purpose space created in partnership with the Gerry Lowe Committee and the Sen's Foundation. This outdoor rink is open for public use year round. Enjoy ice hockey and public skating in the winter and basketball and ball hockey in the spring, summer, and fall.

Currently open for Summer activities.

For your safety, we kindly ask that you refrain from using the rink during inclement weather, ice maintenance, or outside of scheduled times. Please note that the ice surface is unsupervised, and use is at your own risk.

Rockburn Field,12-B Old Slys Road

This diamond is sized for T-Ball and is centrally located within Lower Reach Park.

Friendship Park,12-B Old Slys Road

Friendship diamond is suitable for hardball and is close to all Lower Reach Park amenities.

Madden Field, 12-B Old Slys Road

Located in Lower Reach Park beside the Friendship Park diamond, the Madden baseball diamond is an ideal location for T-Ball.

Civitan # 1 and Civitan # 2 Fields, 25 Old Slys Road

Civitan field 1 and Civitan field 2 are large baseball diamonds located across from Lower Reach Park. Their close proximity makes them an excellent venue for tournaments, league play, and community events. 

Community Centre Field, 71-A Cornelia Street West

Close to the Memorial Community Centre and Youth Arena complex, this field is a great choice for softball games and practices.

 

Frost Mini Field # 1 and Mini Field # 2, entrance on Frost Street

Located in Lower Reach Park, this mini soccer field provides an ideal space for younger players to develop skills and participate in games and practices. Field lines are maintained during the peak season. 

Aboud Field, 12-B Old Slys Road

Located in Lower Reach Park, this full-size field is ideal for games and practices. Field lines are maintained during the peak season. 

McMullen Field, 12-B Old Slys Road

Located in Lower Reach Park close to all the park amenities, this full-size field is ideal for games and practices. Field lines are maintained during the peak season. 

Mini Field # 5, 12-B Old Slys Road

Located in Lower Reach Park adjacent to the Kinsmen Building, this mini soccer field provide an ideal space for younger players to develop skills and participate in games and practices. Field lines are maintained during the peak season. 

Kiwanis Field (Hilltop), 12-B Old Slys Road

Located in Lower Reach Park, this hilltop soccer field is ideal for games and practices. The field can be configured as one full-size field or divided into two mini fields to support a variety of programming needs. Field lines are maintained during peak season. 

 

Lower Reach Courts, entrance on Ryan Street

The courts feature painted lines for both tennis and pickleball. Lighting on the courts extends play into the evening hours throughout the summer season. 

Community Centre Courts, 71-A Cornelia Street West

The courts are conveniently located near the Memorial Community Centre and Youth Arena complex, providing easy access to a variety of community amenities. They are equipped with lighting to support evening use and feature painted lines for both pickleball and tennis. 

Beach Volleyball Court, 12-B Old Slys Road

Outdoor Beach Volleyball court located within Lower Reach Park. Great place to play and enjoy volleyball on a summers' day.

Bocce Ball Court, 12-B Old Slys Road

Well-maintained public bocce ball court located within Lower Reach Park, close to shade trees and benches.

3-on-3 Basketball Court, entrance on Jasper Avenue

Great sized court perfect for 3-on-3 basketball in Lower Reach Park. Adjustable nets. 

Lower Reach Park, 12-B Old Slys Road

The public outdoor fitness station is a great place to enjoy exercise in an outdoor setting. Each piece of equipment includes instructions for proper use.

Memorial Community Centre, 71 Cornelia Street West

A public skateboard park is open to all ages and skill levels. The fenced facility provides a safe and welcoming space for both new and experienced skateboarders to practice their skills and learn new tricks.

Indoor Track

Summer Hours - May 2026 - August 2026, Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 

Upstairs in the Memorial Community Centre. Accessible by elevator. Clean shoes only. Track is closed when paid admission is needed to enter the arena (i.e., Bears game and Rideaus games).

7 laps = 1 mile or 5 laps = 1 km.

Public Roller Skating

$2.00 per skater. A public roller skate is an open, unstructured recreational skating session available to members of the general public of all ages and skill levels, focused on leisure roller skating and general enjoyment of the dry floor surface. Schedule is subject to change. Helmets are required.

Public Skating

$2.00 per skater. A public skate is an open, unstructured recreational skating session available to members of the general public of all ages and skill levels, focused on leisure skating and general enjoyment of the ice surface. Schedule is subject to change.

If you are accompanying a participant to a public skate program and your assistance is required for them to safely take part, you will be admitted at no charge. This applies to caregivers, support persons, or aides who are providing direct assistance on the ice or at the facility.

Sensory Skate

$2.00 per skater.  A sensory skate is a modified public skate designed to provide a quieter, calmer, and more accessible skating experience for individuals who benefit from reduced sensory stimulation, including those with autism, sensory processing differences, anxiety, or other sensory sensitivities. Schedule is subject to change.

Parent & Tot

$2.00 per adult. A parent and tot skate is a supervised introductory skating program designed for very young children (under the age of 5) accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult, focused on early skill development, comfort on the ice, and positive first experiences. Drop-in Adult Shinny

$5.00 per player. Drop-in Shinny is an informal, non-contact hockey-style session intended for casual recreational play. It is not a league, instructional, or competitive program and is designed to allow individuals to participate without prior registration. Schedule is subject to change.

Teen Stick & Puck

$2.00 per player. Stick and Puck is an individual skills-based session intended for players to practice skating, puck handling, passing, and shooting in a non-competitive environment for youth ages 13-17 only. Helmet and gloves are required.
