The Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum is welcoming the season with a celebration of all things autumn. From family-friendly activities to cultural programs and seasonal traditions, the museum will be hosting a variety of fall events that highlight the beauty, history, and community spirit of Smiths Falls.

The Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum is pleased to announce the winners of the 2025 Rideau Artist of the Year Competition.

Over 20 regional artists were challenged to complete an original piece of artwork in the style of en plein air.

The Smiths Falls Heritage Museum invites artists and the public to the picturesque grounds of the museum and Old Slys Rapids and Lock Station on Saturday, June 7th to create an original work of art that captures the beauty of the Rideau Canal in Smiths Falls. This location showcases a beautiful stone train bridge, rapids, natural wildlife, built heritage and of course the Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Join the Smiths Falls Heritage House on April 26, from 11 AM to 2 PM for Spring Carnival! Spend some time outdoors in the warmer weather and celebrate the season with family friendly activities, games, entertainment, and a vendor market.

The line up of activities includes: the Fur, Feathers and Fins petting zoo that will be on site with their animals from 11 AM to 1 PM, Junkyard Symphony who will be performing shows from 11:30 AM – 12 PM and 12:30 PM - 1:00 PM, and a bouncy castle there for the.

The Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum will be hosting a panel discussion celebrating and reflecting on the importance of the manufacturing of Beatles records in Smiths Falls for the North American market. This panel will take place at the Station Theatre on Sunday, September 29th at 2 pm.
