Spirit of the Drum Pow Wow Brings Community Together in Celebration of Indigenous Culture
The Town of Smiths Falls extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and participated in this year's Spirit of the Drum Pow Wow, held on Duck Island. The weekend was filled with vibrant dancing, powerful drumming, meaningful cultural traditions, and a strong sense of community that welcomed residents and visitors alike.
The Town is honoured to support an event that celebrates and shares the rich cultures, traditions, and histories of First Nations peoples. The incredible dancers, drummers, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, vendors, volunteers, and organizers created an unforgettable experience for all who attended. Their generosity in sharing culture and tradition is deeply appreciated.
The Town of Smiths Falls gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Government of Ontario through the Experience Ontario program, which provided $20,000 toward the delivery of the 2026 Spirit of the Drum Pow Wow.
The Town also gratefully acknowledges Parks Canada for its $5,000 micro-grant, which helped support the continued success of this important community celebration.
