PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE OF SALE OF SURPLUS TOWN OWNED LAND

On November 2, 2026, Council of the Town of Smiths Falls deemed the remaining unopened portion of the Market Street right of way situated south of Centre Street to be surplus to the needs of the Town. The size of the parcel is approximately 190 m² (0.05 acres). The subject lands are located adjacent to 33 Centre Street and registered as Instrument No. 693079. The location of the subject lands is shown on the Key Map below.

The parcel subject to this disposition originally formed part of the closed Market Street road allowance, a portion of which was closed and leased pursuant to By-law 755; however, ownership reverted to the Town following expiration of the lease.

The parcel has been declared surplus to municipal needs and is proposed to be disposed of by direct sale to the owners of the abutting property. Following the transfer, the parcel will be consolidated with the abutting lands to form a single, unified property.
