Female Arrested: Theft

On October 24^th, 2024 an arrest was made in relation to a Smiths Falls Police Service investigation that began on October 18^th, 2024 in regards to a theft of a dog. A 20 year old female was arrested and charged and later released on an undertaking for a later court date.

Male Arrested: probation warrant

On October 26^th, 2024 the Smiths Falls Police Service were conducting routine patrol in the downtown area and made observations of a 41-year-old Jeffrey PETERS. PETERS was known to officers to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest for a Probation Breach.

The accused was arrested without incident and transported to the station for processing.

The accused was held in police custody to await a bail hearing.

Male Arrested: Unlawfully in dwelling house:

On October 27^th, 2024 The Smiths Falls Police Service received a call from a local resident reporting family dispute issues. Officer attended the home and learned the home owners’ adult male son had been informed he was no longer welcome in the home.

The police service received information the home owner’s male son had re-attended when his father was not home and unlawfully entered the home. Officers attended the home and found the accused in the home and subsequently arrested him.

The accused was later released in a Form 10 Undertaking with conditions and a court date to answer to the charges.

Male Youth Arrested on Breach Charges:

On October 20^th, 2024 officers located a male youth that was known to be wanted by the OPP on an outstanding warrant.

During the arrest the youth assaulted a police officer and charged accordingly with Failure to comply with release order and assault police officer. He was turned over to the OPP.

Male Arrested on IPV breaches:

On October 23^rd, 2024 the Smiths Falls Police Service entered into an investigation regarding an Intimate Partner Investigation called in by a concerned neighbour. Investigation revealed that a male who had been released on bail twice with no fixed address had entered through the back door of his victim’s residence. The male attempted to flee but was arrested by police. The accused was arrested with failing to comply with probation order X6, failing to comply with release order X2 and being unlawfully in a dwelling house. He was held in custody again to await another bail hearing.

Break & Enter - Males Arrested

On October 28, 2024 police responded to a report of a Break and Enter at a local business. As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged Shawn Murray and Howard Dickson of Smiths Falls with Break, Enter and Commit, Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. Murray was released on a From 10 with a future court date. Dickson was held in custody pending a bail hearing due to a history of repeat offences.
