Notice to Residents: Water Supply Infrastructure Works Ongoing

The Town of Smiths Falls is advising residents of temporary changes to water system operations as a result of a significant capital infrastructure project. Over the next three (3) months, the Lorne Street transmission watermain will be out of service and replaced as part of the Town’s multi-phase trunk watermain upgrade and sewer separation project. During this timeframe, the Town’s water supply needs will be provided directly by our high-lift pumps from the Water Treatment Plant located at 43 Abbott Street during the day, and the water tower located at 12 Air Care Drive during the evening. Residents may experience fluctuations in water pressure, including periods of higher or lower pressure, as well as temporary discoloured water. This work will not impact the quality of the water.
