Notice to Rename a Portion of Confederation Drive

Take notice that Town Council of the Corporation of the Town of Smiths Falls intends to consider the passage of a resolution at their meeting on the 28th day of September 2026 beginning at 5:00 p.m. for re-naming a portion of Confederation Drive from the east side of the new timber pedestrian bridge (see below), “Veterans Way” in recognition of the Smiths Falls Veterans who have served and continue to serve in the protection and peace-keeping missions of our country. Additional information related to the proposed street naming is available electronically and may be obtained by contacting Karl Grenke, Manager of Development Services (kgrenke@smithsfalls.ca, 613-283-4124 Ext. 1116) during regular office hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. The public is invited to submit written comments on the proposed name by September 23, 2026, at 4:30 pm to Kerry Costello, Clerk at kcostello@smithsfalls.ca, or by hand delivering to Town Hall, 77 Beckwith Street North, Smiths Falls.
