Mental Health Week 2025

WHEREAS mental health is an essential part of everyone's health and wellbeing;

WHEREAS all people in Canada need to promote, protect and nurture theirmental health; and

WHEREAS promoting social connection is an important aspect of human lifeand an effective way to protect mental health; and

WHEREAS the theme for Mental Health Week 2025 is "Unmasking MentalHealth"; and

WHEREAS living with mental health challenges often forces people to hidebehind a "mask" to protect themselves from judgement and discrimination.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I, Shawn Pankow, Mayor of theTown of Smiths Falls hereby proclaims the week of May 5th to May 11th, 2025,as MENTAL HEALTH WEEK in the Town of Smiths Falls. I encourage all
citizens to encourage people across Canada to look beyond the surface andsee the whole person.
