Media Release: Election Update
The Town of Smiths Falls will hold the Municipal Election on Monday, October 26, 2026. This year, eligible Smiths Falls voters can vote at anytime and anywhere starting Monday, October 19, 2026, at 8:30 AM to Monday, October 26, 2026, at 8:00 PM using internet-telephone voting. There will be no paper ballot.
In early October, each person on the voters’ list shall be mailed a sealed Voter Information Letter. Eligible voters who have not received their voter information letter in the mail by October 13 should visit the help center at Town Hall with proper identification ID Requirements.
To be added, deleted or to make any other corrections to the Voters List, please contact Giselle Nayel at the Town Hall (contact information below). Amendments can be made during normal office hours beginning September 1 up to and including the close of voting on October 26 at 8 p.m.

The Voter Identification Letter Includes a unique Personal Identification Number (PIN) which will be required to vote. Voters using the internet method will log on to the election website, enter their pin and birthdate, then proceed to mark their ballots electronically. Voters using Telephone method will dial into a toll-free number, enter their PIN, then proceed to follow a touch tone menu to enter their votes.
As with previous elections, a help centre with a computer/telephone for voting will be established at Town Hall for eligible voters who need assistance with voting or those with no access to internet/telephone.

To revise information on the Voters' List (if needed), get general election information or have your election questions answered, the hours of operation are as follows:
September 1 to October 23 8:30AM to 4:30PM (Monday to Friday)
Saturday, October 24 9:00AM to 12:00PM
October 26 8:30AM to 8:00PM
