Media Release: Economic Development Manager
The Town of Smiths Falls wishes to announce the appointment of Ingrid Bron as the new Economic Development & Tourism Manager for the Town of Smiths Falls.
Ms. Bron brings more than17 years of combined experience in municipal economic community development, tourism and planning. She worked previously with the Town of Smiths Falls as Economic Development Coordinator for over two years, followed by six years in British Columbia as the Director of Community Economic Development for the City of Revelstoke and the Columbia Shuswap Regional District Area B.
“We are very pleased to announce the appointment of such an experienced and highly qualified candidate for the position of Manager of Economic Development & Tourism,” said Chief Administrative Officer Malcolm Morris. “Ingrid’s collaborative style and passion for economic development will be vital as we strive to build a diverse local economy fueled by a strong business sector. We are delighted to welcome Ingrid back to Smiths Falls.”
Bron studied at Queen’s University and holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning. She is an active member of the Economic Development Association of Canada (EDAC) and Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO).
Bron brings an infectious level of energy and enthusiasm to the role along with a solid record of delivering results. Her demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders will advance the Town’s strategic objectives of expanding economic activity, creating employment opportunities, and building a thriving local economy.
