Media Release: 2027 Community Grants
The Town of Smiths Falls will be accepting applications for the 2027 Community Grants Program beginning November 1st. Local organizations, groups, and individuals with initiatives that enhance community well-being or attract visitors are encouraged to apply.
The Community Grants Program provides modest financial support to eligible applicants through the Town’s annual operating budget, approved by Council. Funding is available for:
- Operational and programming support
- Minor capital investments for local not-for-profit organizations
- Events, activations, and programs led by non-incorporated groups or individuals (including business owners)
“The Community Grants Program is an opportunity for the Town to support the people, organizations, and initiatives that make Smiths Falls a great place to live,” said Stephanie Clark, Director of Community Services. “So much of what makes our community special comes from the dedication and efforts of local volunteers and organizations. This program allows us to support that work, encourage new ideas, and help create opportunities for residents to connect, participate, and enjoy everything our community has to offer. We look forward to seeing the projects and initiatives that come forward and the contributions they will make to Smiths Falls.”
Applications will be accepted from November 1st to November 30th, 2026. Approved funding will be distributed following Council’s adoption of the 2027 budget in February.
A free Community Grants Workshop will be held on Monday, November 2nd, from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at the Youth Arena in the upstairs hall. Prospective applicants are encouraged to attend to learn more about the program, ask questions, and receive guidance on their applications, including the opportunity to have their application reviewed. Register online at smithsfalls.ca/grantworkshop. Program guidelines and application forms are available at smithsfalls.ca/communitygrants.
