International Day of Pink 2025

WHEREAS the International Day of Pink is set up as anInternational Day against bullying, discrimination, homophobia, transphobia, transmisogyny in cities and towns all across the world; and

WHEREAS on this day, everyone is invited to celebrate diversity by wearing a pink shirt and by organizing activities in theirworkplaces, schools and communities in support of the day.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, Shawn Pankow, Mayor of the Town of Smiths Falls, do hereby proclaim April 9th, 2025 as International Day of Pink and encourage all citizens to wear pink, spark some conversations and inspire acceptance in the Town of Smiths Falls.

AND FURTHER THAT on April 9th, 2025, let's celebrate visibility in all its forms - being seen, acknowledged, respected, and listened to.
