Community Living Month 2025

WHEREAS Community Living Ontario develops policy solutions andadvocates for changes that increase the community participation, inclusionand belonging of people labelled as having an intellectual disability;

AND WHEREAS this includes the more than 250,000 people who have anintellectual disability and their families in Ontario who Community LivingOntario has been advocating for and with for over 70 years.

AND WHEREAS Community Living Month is a province-wide annualawareness campaign to recognize the accomplishments of the Community Living movement.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, Shawn Pankow, Mayor ofthe Town of Smiths Falls, do hereby proclaim May as Community LivingMonth in The Town of Smiths Falls.
AND THAT I encourage all residents to join Community Living Ontario asthey show why #Authenticlnclusion matters for people who have anintellectual disability and their families!
