BeADonor Month 2025

WHEREAS, "BeADonor Month" supports organ and tissue donorregistration; and

WHEREAS, in Ontario, 1,400 people on average are waiting for alifesaving organ while thousands more are in need of a transformativetissue donation.; and

WHEREAS, everyone is a potential organ and tissue donor, regardlessof age, medical condition or sexual orientation; one organ donor cansave up to eight lives and enhance the lives of up to 75 more throughthe gift of tissue; and

NOW THEREFORE I, Shawn Pankow, Mayor of the Town of SmithsFalls do hereby proclaim the month of April as BeADonor Month andencourage all citizens to learn more about the organ and tissuedonation and transplantation,
AND THAT residents are asked to consider pledging their support to"BeADonor Month" by registering as a donor at beadonor.ca.
