Arson Investigation

On the 9^th of June 2024 Smiths Falls Police attended a residence on Smiths Falls Avenue after a report of a fully engulfed fire. Smiths Falls Police and Smiths Falls Fire Service commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire with Ontario Fire Marshall’s office. Initial investigation determined the fire was deliberately set. No one was injured. Police are continuing with the investigation.

Arrest made in Mischief call

On the 12^th of June 2024, Smiths Falls Police responded to an OPP assistance call to a residence on Mazie St. Upon arrival a male fled the scene. Officers apprehended the male and arrested him in regards to numerous acts of mischief that occurred on the property. Smiths Falls Police executed an outstanding bench warrant for failing to appear in court to 26 year old Blake Horne of Smiths Falls. He was held in custody.
