Domestic Complaint Leads to Several Charges:

On May 8th 2024, Smiths Falls Police Service responded to a domestic related complaint on Lavinia St. A 39 year old Smiths Falls male was arrested and charged with 27 charges relating to assault, uttering threats, forcible confinement, mischief as well as several firearm related offences towards his partner. Police further executed a Criminal Code Search Warrant at the residence and located a sawed off shotgun. The accused was held in custody to answer to these charges.

Male Brandishing a Knife was Arrested:

On May 3rd 2024, the Smiths Falls Police Service received multiple reports of a male causing a disturbance while brandishing a knife in the downtown core. Officers attended the area and arrested the suspect near the Beckwith Street Bridge. The suspect had threatened a cab driver with the knife during a dispute over a fare.

25 year old Maxwell LANGFORD of Smiths Falls stands accused of multiple weapons related offences. He was held pending a Show Cause Hearing and remains in custody.

Female Arrested on Outstanding Warrant after Causing a Disturbance:

On May 5th the Smiths Falls Police Service responded to a residence on Helen Street regarding a female causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, the suspect had fled the scene. The suspect was located a short time later in the downtown core and arrested on outstanding warrants for previous offences relating to a previous assault and failing to appear in court to answer to that charge.

34 year old Chelsea HILL of Smiths Falls was held pending a Show Cause Hearing and currently remains in custody.

Male arrested on Outstanding Warrant:

On May 4th 2024, the Smiths Falls Police Service received information that a wanted male was in the area of Parkland Court. Officers attended the area and located the individual who was wanted for multiple violent domestic related offences.

34 year old Lucas YOUNG of Frontenac County was arrested and held for a show cause hearing.
