Single Motor Vehicle Collision – Queen Street Smiths Falls, Ontario

On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at approximately 4:24 a.m., the Smiths Falls Police Service responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Queen Street near Albert Street in Smiths Falls, Ontario.

Prior to the collision, an officer had attempted to conduct a traffic stop in relation to a criminal investigation and traffic offences. The driver failed to stop, fled the area, and was involved in a collision a short time later.

As a result of the incident, the driver of the suspect vehicle was transported to hospital.

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate in relation to this incident. As required by law, no further information can be provided by the Smiths Falls Police Service at this time.
