Single Vehicle Collision Results in Minor Injuries and Infrastructure Damage

On May 30, 2026, at approximately 9:26 p.m., the Smiths Falls Police Service received multiple 911 calls reporting a motor vehicle collision. Members of the Smiths Falls Police Service, Lanark County Paramedic Services, and Smiths Falls Fire responded and located a single vehicle involved in the collision.

The incident resulted in damage to a nearby electrical transformer and a traffic light. Utility services and Public Works were notified and attended to address the damage and ensure public safety.

The driver was assessed and treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation is now complete and police can confirm that the driver experienced a medical episode prior to the collision. No charges were laid as a result.
