Smiths Falls Police Service Make Arrests in Armed Robbery and Break & Enter Investigations

Smiths Falls Police Service (SFPS) has arrested two individuals in connection with an armed robbery and two break and enter investigations.

At approximately 5:47 a.m. on March 26, SFPS officers responded to a break and enter at a local pawn shop. Later that evening, at around 8:45 p.m., SFPS received a 9‑1‑1 call from a local gas station reporting that an armed robbery had just occurred. Officers responded immediately, secured both scenes, and initiated the investigations.

Members of the SFPS Crime Unit quickly joined frontline officers to gather evidence and interview witnesses. Their coordinated investigative efforts led to the identification of two suspects linked to the armed robbery and the pawn shop break and enter. Investigators also connected the same suspects to a second break and enter that occurred on March 24, 2026 at a downtown restaurant.

On March 28, 2026, SFPS officers located one of the outstanding suspects in the investigation. The suspect was arrested without incident. 48-year-old Bryan MORDY, a Smiths Falls resident, has been charged with:

• Robbery using a firearm (x1)
• Possession of property obtained by crime (x1)
• Disguise with intent (x2)
• Break and enter (x2)
• Possession break in instruments (x2)

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

On March 29, 2026, SFPS officers located and arrested the second outstanding suspect without incident. 35-year-old Amanada FRASER, a Smiths Falls resident, has been charged with:

• Robbery using a firearm (x1)
• Possession of property obtained by crime (x1)
• Disguise with intent (x1)
• Break and enter (x1)

The accused was held in custody for a bail court hearing.
