Stolen vehicle suspect arrested -IPV Charges laid -Wanted suspect located
Harassment charge laid
On February 1st, 2026, Smiths Falls Police Service members located a male who was wanted on outstanding charges. The charges stemmed from a January 8th, 2026, criminal harassment investigation related to intimate partner violence.
As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old Smiths Falls male stands charged with criminal harassment (x1). The accused was later released from custody with conditions and a scheduled court date.
One arrested after breaching court ordered conditions
On February 3rd, 2026, Smiths Falls Police received information of disturbance in progress in a residential complex. Members of the Smiths Falls Police responded to the scene to commence the investigation. While on scene, a male known to police was observed and confirmed to be in breach of their court ordered conditions. The male was arrested without incident.
As a result of the investigation, 41-year-old Matthew RYAN of Smiths Falls stands charged with failing to comply with their release order (X2) and failing to comply with their probation order (x4). The accused was held in custody for a bail court appearance.
IPV disturbance results in charges
On February 2nd, 2026, Smiths Falls Police received a 9-1-1 call alerting of an intimate partner violence dispute in progress. Members of the Smiths Falls Police responded to the scene to investigate. One subject was arrested on scene without further incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old female from Smiths Falls stands charged with fail to comply with their release order (x2). The accused was held in custody for a bail court hearing.
Driver arrested after traffic stop
On February 5th, 2026, members of the Smiths Falls Police initiated at traffic stop while on proactive patrol. While conducting the traffic investigation, it was learned that the driver was on a court condition to not operate a motor vehicle. The driver was subsequently arrested without incident.
As a result of the investigation, 38-year-old Kaleb MOORE of Smiths Falls stands charged with failing to comply with their undertaking (x1) and numerous provincial driving related offences. The accused was later released with conditions and a scheduled court date.
Arrest made in stolen vehicle investigation
On February 8th, 2026, at approximately 6:38pm Smiths Falls Police received a report of a stolen motor vehicle from a local residence. Members of the Smiths Falls Police commenced an investigation into the matter and alerted neighbouring police agencies to be on the lookout for the suspect and vehicle. At approximately 11:07pm the suspect was located and arrested with the assistance of OPP Leeds County.
As a result of the investigation, 45-year-old Shawn WOODCOCK of Smiths Falls stands charged with theft of motor vehicle (x1). The accused was held in custody for a bail court hearing.
Additional charge laid after warrant arrest
On February 9th, 2026, members of the Smiths Falls Police with the assistance of OPP Lanark located and arrested a male wanted on outstanding warrants. Further investigation by members of the Smiths Falls Police learned the male was also in breach of their bail release order.
As a result of the investigation, 27-year-old Dustin AMOS of Carleton Place stands charged with failing to comply with their bail release order (x1). Additionally, the subject had two warrants for their arrest relating to previous mischief charges and failing to attend for fingerprints. The accused was held in custody for a bail court hearing.
The charges in these matters have not been proven in court.
