Responsible for leadership and guidance of a dedicated team of people delivering a diverse range of services including water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, solid waste management, public works operations, active transportation, traffic, and capital projects.
A post-secondary education in a related engineering/technical discipline (preferably Civil) along with a Professional Engineer or C.E.T. designation. Considerable managerial experience and training in utility, environmental and public works services in an urban environment. A strong understanding of provincial legislation and policies as they relate to the responsibilities of the job.
Related work experience includes a minimum of five (5) years in a senior management role, preferably in a municipal public works and utilities environment. The successful candidate will be a community minded leader with excellent communications, problem-solving, financial, organizational and critical-thinking skills. An acute ability to think strategically and manage priorities while focusing on best practices and operational excellence.
