ASSET & CAPITAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

The Town is accepting applications for one (1) Full Time Employee (35 hours/week) ASSET & CAPITAL Management Coordinator. Under the direction of the Director of Public Works and Utilities, you will form part of a team in our Public Works and Utilities Department.
The Asset & Capital Project Management Coordinator is responsible for:
- Assists in the development, implementation and on-going maintenance of the Town’s Corporate Asset Management Plan and related policy and
- Analyses and maintains the asset and geomatics database in addition to performing lifecycle analysis relating to the rehabilitation or upgrade of the Town’s various infrastructure
- Responsible for the development and implementation of standard processes for collecting, updating, maintaining and managing the asset infrastructure information, condition inspections and
- Maintain the relevant parts of the asset registry through field inspections, asset data collection, and proficient use of the Town’s asset management software systems (e.g. CityWide, GIS, Excel, ).
- Develop, implement and monitor best practices for asset rehabilitation/renewal analysis, including developing techniques for lifecycle analysis, condition assessments, inspection programs and developing service levels standards and performance
- Work with departments to establish risk management practices and performance
- Research and forecast asset management trends, projecting current activities and programs into longer term
- Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations on the Town’s assets based on detailed analysis for a varied
- Provides leadership, technical advice, and administrative support to effectively plan and execute in-house Capital Infrastructure projects from the pre-engineering phase through to final
- Secure approvals from Conservation Authorities, Provincial Ministries, Federal agencies, and local stakeholders to enable projects to
- Regularly visit construction sites to assess quality of work and progress of work and liaise with on-site engineering staff to inform subsequent steps to ensure that work progresses according to the contract documents and required
- Review project related invoices and payments and project related expenditures against budgets for assigned
- Serve as a point of contact and provide technical review and comment on, but not limited to, pre-servicing agreements, plan of subdivision, site plan agreements, development permits, and complex municipal consents.

The successful applicant will possess:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree from a recognized college or university with a concentration in geographical information systems (GIS) and/or a civil engineering-based
- Four (4) years experience in a municipal engineering or public works related environment, focused on capital infrastructure design (sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water main and roadways), project management or contract 2-3 years of experience performing routine on-site inspection of capital infrastructure projects would be considered an asset.
- 1 to 2 years of applied knowledge of GIS programming, web based GIS technologies, spatial database modelling, municipal infrastructure data management including experience in engineering planning, design and implementation of tailored spatial databases and systems is
- Proficiency in computer software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, geographic information systems (ArcGis), Microsoft Office, and related database
- Knowledge of and experience with global positioning systems (GPS) in data conversion, data transfer, retrieval and data acquisition;
- Knowledge and experience using a Robotic Total Station with a comprehensive working understanding of topographic survey best
- Excellent presentation and graphic design skills for the creation of professional quality maps and related
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to effectively explain technical job components to users of varying subject
- Efficient multi-tasking skills along with an established ability to prioritize and adjust plans in a busy environment;
- Thorough working knowledge of Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications, Ontario Provincial Standard Drawings, Transportation Association of Canada Geometric Design Guidelines, Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Ontario Traffic
- Strong working knowledge of engineering practices, related government legislations and standards, and municipal government best
- Eligible for, or a member in good standing of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and
- Valid and satisfactory Police Records Check; and
- Valid Ontario G Driver’s License at all times during
