Public Notice

Jan. 21, 2021

Effective 8 a.m. Jan. 22, 2021, The Gerry Lowe Memorial Outdoor Rink will be open, with COVID safety measures. The outdoor rink will remain open under these new restrictions as long as the Town can maintain viable ice for the safe use of the space.

The outdoor rink is open for SKATING ONLY under the province’s re-opening framework and through guidance from Leeds Grenville & Lanark Public Health. Under the current restrictions nets, sticks, pucks and balls are not allowed. Teams sports or games are also not permitted. Face masks are mandatory at all times both on and off the ice. These protocols will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and are subject to change.

The new operating hours for the outdoor rink will be 8:00am-8:00pm 7 days a week (weather permitting)

The ice will be limited to 25 skaters on the surface at one time. Use will be on a first-come, first-served basis. This is a public rink for all to use. Please share the space and time with all users Skaters will be permitted on the ice for 25 minute increments and must exit the ice after 25 minutes before the next group can entry. Entry onto ice outside of these times will be permitted based on availability. Patrons must maintain physical distancing of two-metres (6ft) both on and off the ice and in waiting areas.

We still ask the public to support our efforts and stay off the pad when it is closed or under maintenance.

We understand and appreciate the need to have our outdoor rink operational during a time when so few activities are available for our community.
