Celebration of Lights raises $3,000 for Smiths Falls Community Food Bank

The Town of Smiths Falls is pleased to report that the annual Celebration of Lights event raised more than $3,000 for the Smiths Falls Community Food Bank.

“Additional expenses during the holidays can make the season a stressful time of the year for many families,” said Mayor Shawn Pankow. “We are pleased the food bank can serve as that conduit so this donation can help meet the food security needs of our citizens.”

The Smiths Falls Community Food Bank assists families and individuals in need by providing safe and nutritious emergency food as supplies allow. The food bank serves the communities of Smiths Falls, Jasper, Lombardy, Montague Township, Merrickville, Toledo, and surrounding areas.

The Celebration of Lights ran from Nov. 23, 2020 to Jan. 7, 2021, and is now closed for the season. The Town of Smiths Falls would like to thank the corporate sponsors who contributed to the event and the Smiths Falls Community Food Bank:
