Public Review for potential new Salt Shed at Works Yard, 11 Air Care Drive

11/10/12
The Town of Smiths Falls, Works and Utilities Department is soliciting public input for the potential construction of a new Salt Shed for the management of our road salt/sanding operations.

The attached document is an Environmental Assessment related to the construction of a 100 foot by 90 foot tarpulin structure to house our winter salt, sand and associated equipment- brine tanks and wash bay.

The requirement under our salt management plan requires us to manage our winter snow removal materials and equipment in a more environmentally friendly manner.  We are constructing this shed to facilitate the use and storage of winter sand and salt.

To provide your comments relating to this assessment please contact Don Looby, Superintendent of Works and Utilities at 613-283-4124 extension 3301.  Should you reach an answering machine; leave your : name, address, telephone # and comment.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
