By-Law Enforcement Division
As a part of Planning & Sustainable Growth Department, the By-law Enforcement Division’s function is to make our community safe, healthy and enjoyable for everyone through the enforcement of municipal by-laws.
By-laws have been enacted to encourage residents and businesses to be responsible and respectful of their neighbors and contribute to the health, safety and vibrancy of the Sensational Town of Smiths Falls.
This is accomplished through education to raise awareness of community standards and enforcement to ensure timely compliance with a professional, unbiased approach.

Making a Complaint
If you have a concern, regarding a By-law infraction you may:
• Register the complaint in person at the Town Hall.
• Contact the By-law Enforcement Officer at the contact information provided below.
• Send a letter outlining your concerns to the contact information provided below
• Send complaint by email to bylawsf@smithsfalls.ca.
Please ensure that all complaints include a name, address, phone number, relationship to the property or individual that you are making the complaint about, and the issue. The By-law Enforcement Officer may wish to call you and confirm the information, or ask further questions regarding the issue.
