This week we had three potential businesses make inquires looking to choose Smiths Falls as a possible location to establish or relocate their business. While they may have made the call, many factors must fall into their consideration when choosing a location. The continued development of the Economic Development Website is nearing completion. The Town website is also going to be more user friendly with modifications for those viewers who have accessibility options. You will find the site easier to navigate and easier to search for important information. The Sensational Town of Smiths Falls has also identified the importance of Sell Sensational to our community sectors. The Economic Development Department has submitted an application to support a Community Partnership Program. The program will train stakeholders and their employees and membership to sell our positive community attributes to visitors, potential new residences and business developers. This program will start its development in January and will offer training opportunities in late March through to May 21st, 2010. Watch for developments on this wonder project. It is guaranteed to be fun and educational! The Economic Development Advisory Board will be announcing its plans to start a Business Retention and Expansion Program. This program is designed to be volunteer driven and has proven very beneficial in other communities.
